Styling The Statement Sweater

Fall came back to Houston for the week AGAIN! For some strange reason, cold weather makes me crave baked goods, so I stopped by the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM for  quick snack.

Just in time for this cool weather, I got a chance to pull out this sweatshirt I’ve been holding onto since July.  I managed snag this sweet little number at one of Zara’s infamous semi-annual sales for a steal. What most drew me to this particular sweatshirt was the combination of sparkles imposed on both this cowboy  fringe and as well as bright triangles. The 80’s wear calling my name and I just had to answer.

Often times we pull these “WOW” pieces because they look amazing on the hanger. However, when we take them home, we’re never quite sure how the perfectly pull it off. A quick tip: KEEP THINGS SIMPLE! Make it all about the statement item and tone down everything else around it. Denim  is always a great staple to ground any statement item.

  1. I love this little sweater! It’s definitely the fringe that gets me. I agree with you, wearing statement pieces can be hard but keeping it simple is a sure fire to nail it every time. I’m also loving your patent leather boots — cute look Dani!
